Weather it matters

A web-based visualization of location and weather data (from Google Maps and WeatherUnderground) to see the correlation between weather and sentiment. We integrated Twitter’s API by using geotagged posts to determine the average sentiment of different areas. Upon arrival at our website, users see a map of the world with a heatmap representing the temperature and precipitation levels around the world. This weather data is overlaid with a heatmap of the mood trends (determined using natural-language algorithms run on tweets)
